BAC annually distributes funding to support hundreds of projects by Brooklyn-based artists, collectives, and small nonprofit organizations through the following funding initiatives.
Our Community Arts Grants application deadline for 2020 grants has passed. We are currently assembling panels of arts professionals to review applications and look forward to awarding them in 2020. Community Arts Grants consist of the Brooklyn Arts Fund, Local Arts Support, and the Charlene Victor & Ella J. Weiss Cultural Entrepreneur Fund.
Brooklyn-based 501c3 organizations, collectives and individual artists are invited to apply for up to $5,000 to support high-quality arts projects in all disciplines, genres and styles. Funded by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
Brooklyn-based nonprofit organizations and artist-nonprofit partnerships are invited to apply for up to $5,000 to support community-based, high-quality arts projects in all disciplines, genres and styles. Funded by New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program.
The Charlene Victor and Ella J. Weiss Cultural Entrepreneur Fund is designed to support the next generation of women artists and arts administrators. Two (2) Brooklyn-based women artists or arts administrators will be awarded $2,500 each toward costs for professional development.
The Destination> Brooklyn grant is designed to amplify the city’s appeal as a culturally vibrant destination by funding the promotion of not-for-profit arts and cultural events and programs that are open to the public in all five boroughs. Awards of $2,500 will be granted for the distribution of promotional materials that represent the organization’s artistic and cultural activities with an emphasis on borough tourism.
