Artists and community members at the East New York kick-off meeting.
On the eastern end of Brooklyn, the neighborhoods of Brownsville and East New York are culturally rich and varied places. Like all parts of the city, talented artists live here, and a number of organizations are working to provide accessible, high-quality local arts programming.
Using community feedback as our guide, BAC has provided training for local cultural entrepreneurs looking to create or develop small businesses as well as training for artists looking to gain experience teaching in public schools; and meetings that attempt to increase opportunities for local networking within the creative field. We also facilitate and support local groups and artists who are working to expand arts presentations in the area.
